Each AWANA ministry is broken down into three general areas: Game Time, Handbook Time and Council or Lesson Time.  Children are encouraged to memorize scripture and are taught about Jesus and how to live a Christian life.

The New Hope AWANA Clubs follow the school calendar-year schedule from August to May of each year with a break in December.  We meet on Sunday evenings from 5:00 to 6:30.  For more information, call us!  449.7020

 AWANA Missions

Adopt-a-Club is just one way that AWANA participates in missions activities.  Adopt-a-Club allows our children to help children in another country attend AWANA.  Throughout the year we provide various opportunities for the clubbers to help others near and abroad.

Who We Are, What We Do

Reaching our young people is very important.  Did you know that 85% of all people who do not accept Jesus Christ as savior by age 18 never will?

That’s why AWANA offers a series of clubs and programs geared to the needs of a particular age or grade.  As a vital part of our local church ministry, AWANA clubs and programs effectively reach young people with the Good News of Jesus Christ.

AWANA is an international, Bible-centered children's and youth ministry providing local churches with weekly clubs and programs for preschool through high school. Our goal is to equip churches to reach children and teenagers, and their families, with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him. The acronym AWANA comes from the first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, taken from 2 Timothy 2:15.

AWANA began in 1950 as a youth program at the North Side Gospel Center in Chicago, Illinois. Lance Latham, the church pastor, worked with Art Rorheim to develop a program that would appeal to young people, reach them with the gospel and train them in the Lord’s work. Other churches heard about the success of the AWANA program and asked if they could use it. By 1960, AWANA had registered 900 clubs.

Today, more than 10,400 churches in the United States run AWANA. There are clubs in all 50 states. AWANA can also be found in 3,200 churches in 109 other countries and six continents.

Here at New Hope Church, our AWANA ministry works with other ministries to give our children and youth a well-balanced emphasis on knowing Jesus and how we can live for Him and serve Him.
